Nearly a decade ago, when planning for the new Stratton Elementary School began, the community was asked what they’d like to see in the new school.

The following is a list of incidents reported to police agencies on Nov. 15 however, the call may have resulted in something other than what was originally reported.

The Raleigh County School District has received a maximum $500,000 in federal funds to provide additional support for the mental health needs of students at six of its schools.

The funds are sourced from the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act as part of the Mountain State’s Stronger Connections grant program.
