A decline in average used light commercial vehicle (LCV) wholesale values of just £15 in October suggests that “demand remains well balanced against supply”, according to BCA.

The tax hike on second homes will come into force from April 2024.

BCA has reported "encouraging signs" from a used van market which experienced a 1.8% (£177) decline in average wholesale values during September.

BCA has said that used vehicle process will “remain very robust for some time to come” after wholesale used car values rose 2.9% to £9,197 in September.

BCA’s average wholesale used car values declined by 5.4% in August as retailers switched their sights towards stocking a more readily available range of older vehicles.

The average cost of a used van or LCV sold in BCA's auctions during July was £10,220, a 4.2% rise month on month, as used car costs rose by 2.9% to £9,464.
