The Missd America organization announced Tuesday that its 33rd pageant will be held at 8 p.m. Sept. 14 at Caesars Atlantic City.

Atlantic Citys Westminster Avenue was renamed Schultz-Hill Boulevard on Wednesday in honor of John Schultz and Gary Hills philanthropy and history in the local gay community.

While Miss America has long since left the state, the Missd America Pageant — a drag contest that has been an Atlantic City staple since the 1990s — is adding events in an effort to increase the pageants impact, by not only spreading its message of diversity, equality and inclusivity, but promoting the citys economy and tourism.

Atlantic Citys Multicultural Affairs department held its first Rainbow Beach Bash Tuesday at the Park Place Beach, also known as Rainbow Beach for its history as an LGBTQ-friendly place.
