In response to a recommendation by an independent study team for NASA to play a more prominent role in understanding Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena, the agency announced Thursday it is appointing a director of UAP research.

Mike Gold, a former NASA official and member of the study team, told Breaking Defense that if any UAP was found to be extraterrestrial proves to be extraterrestrial, "that would probably be the best case scenario, because of these systems are from terrestrial adversaries, that is really terrifying."
