We dont know -- we dont know who it was too but he wanted to get the story straight clearly and it was -- its kind of stunning that the president calls, he doesnt need to be told lie because as michael cohen said time and time again, we had kind of a code that the president didnt have to spell it out and direct me, i knew exactly what he was saying, but i think this is very important and, by the way, not one republican today was interested in addressing any questions of potential criminality abo...

And i think people like adam schiff and mark warner are laying the ground work there. theyre certainly hinting that theyre going to fight. they want all the information that the department of justice has, as it relates to this investigation. the problem is, though, that, you know, while it may come as a surprise to some that were hearing from rod rosenstein, no doubt that this was done today, with the intention, you know, i think, certainly, to prepare the american people that we may not see thi...

Overused its unilateral authority. now were seeing president trump use its unilateral authority to an extent weve almost never seen before in a way thats just completely -- and republicans are falling in line by and large in a way thats just frankly intellectually dishonest, based not on my standards but where they set the standards over the past decade. thats been a little stunning for me personally to see. >> house minority leader kevin mccarthy seemed to claim a little bit earlier today that ...

Heard from adam schiff? >> i think he has his finger on what is a conundrum right now. which is that the regulations that govern this report do not provide they be made public to the congress or to the american people. that is unlike the statute that governed the white water investigation which mandated a report to congress. this really leaves a lot to the discretion of mr. barr. he -- its kind of a stunning -- actual actually, that someone would walk in at this late hour, would hold so much of ...

>> yeah, quickly before we go. david cornyn, do you think well hear from christopher steel? do you think well hear publicly from him? >> maybe at some point. his memo speaks for itself. i assume hell be questioned by the house of democrats or a report coming out. one thing i would like to see from adam schiff, public hearings. the biggest scandal in american history and no public hearings yet. >> thats right. >> election potentially swung by a hostile foreign power, not one public hearing, stunn...

Judgement, stupidity, whatever you want to call it. >> yeah. >> what hes facing now is either jail or a gag order and not being able to raise money for his -- for his defense. and i think thats one of the reasons we find him offering this huge mea culpa to the judge who reading our court reporting here sounds just a little bit skeptical that there wasnt any way to find an image of her without whatever that symbol is behind her head. and therefore she clearly assumes that it had meaning beyond t ...
