Wish list. lets put it that way. >> i dont think they will. but i do just by getting to be with you, my brother. i love you, and i wish you a very good weekend. >> ill see you on monday. this is "cnn tonight." im don lemon. maybe its the cover-up and the crime all at the same time. at the end of a week of bad news and worse news for this president, the walls are really closing in tonight on one of the biggest days so far in this mueller investigation with one huge development after another roc...

A leadership role by the trump children during the transition he put himself in a position to have more influence. i think all of these are factors that will be examined in the coming months. i dont want to go too far in guessing the what the memo shows us from the special counsel. i think only they know the cards they hold. and this could be something of a disappointment. >> whats interesting about it is we have heard nothing about michael flynn. >> yes. >> for almost a year. >> almost a year. ...

>> he was also to your point about transition he was the person who came in to help take over the transition when chris christie was fired. he was the person not recommended by chris christie and jeff sessions who were running the transition together. not recommended as the national security adviser because they thought that that would be potentially dangerous. he put himself in the position that he wanted. when he was put in some more of a leadership role by the trump children during the transi...

The last politician to do so was john mccain, not long ago. another person who really marked the passing of an era for this republican party. george h.w. bush was of a different time. its really kind of stunning to think back to. youve been talking about how he advocated for this kinder, gentler politics, a kinder, gentler america. he talked about how he didnt understand why you couldnt be caring. why this was something that was not necessarily seen as tough. he insisted he was going to show all...

Rightly been enough criticism and continues to be. former first ladys michelle obama, hello clinton. unfortunately and sadly and i dont agree with it, it seems to come with the territory of being first lady. they attacked the first lady. i want to say i actually like the red christmas trees. i am a minimalist. they are modern and funky and frankly we shouldnt be attacking any first lady for decorating the white house because its petty and there are more important issues. >> shannon: there are so...

That come back to bite you. when cohen gave this testimony, or when he made these statements hes being charged with, that he was confident that no one would over find out they may be false. stunning. okay. before the news broke the president tweeted this on the investigation, asking, did you ever see an investigation more in search of a crime? i would say yes, mr. president, your voter fraud commission led by chris coback, that would be one. the president forgets the fact there are now 32 indict...

Bolton wouldnt get into it. we know the chairman of the senate foreign relations committee would like to have gina haspel, though that committee has been briefed by her. he would like it to a broader audience. i think to echo what jim was saying, i think it was kind of stunning to me at how dismissive bolton was of the khashoggi case, saying, you know, what am i going to learn from it? obviously theyve had translators listen to it but this can turn into a game of telephone. if you want to avoid ...

>> and anna is with me now. whats your big takeaway from the interview? >> well, he makes these stunning -- he admits to a lot, actually, when he sat down with me. he says he essentially told roger stone exactly what julian assange was going to do, that there were going to be two big dumps, and he knew the october surprise was going to be john podestas e-mails. >> so once he made that admission to you, why? >> well, right now hes fighting tooth and nail. the gloves are off. hes declined this ple...

Every person involved in the murder of jamal khashoggi will be held accountable. but then you look at this statement from president trump basically saying it doesnt matter if the crown prince had knowledge of this or was involved. he said "maybe he did or maybe he didnt." the big picture here is once again the president is at odds with his intelligence community. this is a slap in the face to the intelligence community who has been working for the last several weeks, months to gather this intell...

Same time as the president. >> yeah. >> so lets talk about the president in france. didnt make it to the american cemetery to honor americans fallen, allegedly because the helicopter wouldnt fly in rain. you were in france, as i say, at the same time. you visited the american cemetery in normandy. i just want to get your reaction to that. >> yeah. it was actually quite stunning. and made more stunning because we were there in france -- when you walk normandy, you see the cemetery, omaha, utah, p...
