The Stuttgart Lions Club will host a shrimp boil on Thursday, April 29, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Shrimp dinners will be served in a drive-through line at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 1011 S. Park Ave. in Stuttgart. Lions Club member Blake Frizzell said the shrimp boil has been an event community members look forward to for several years.
“We were talking at the meeting the other day about how long we have been doing this, and it is somewhere around 10 years that we have been putting these on,” Frizzell said.

The Stuttgart Lions Club is collecting used eyeglasses throughout the month of February. Lions Club member Blake Frizzell said the glasses will be sent with college students conducting eyecare clinics in different countries.
“A lot of these colleges go to places right around the equator where people need sunglasses and regular glasses because the sun affects their eyes so much,” Frizzell said.
The Lions Club holds fundraisers and collection drives throughout the year to support vision programs, community organizations and scholarship funds.
“One of our focuses is on sight, so we collect old eyeglasses or unused eyeglasses. People get new ones and sometimes they do not know what to do with their older ones, but they are still in good shape. We would love for them to consider donating them,” Frizzell said.
