Oyo/Osun Customs intercepts 500 bags of foreign rice

By Suleiman Shehu Ibadan, Feb. 11,2021 The Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intercepted six vehicles loaded with 500 bags of 50 kilogrammes foreign rice with Duty Paid Valued (DPV) at N22,329,000. The NCS Area Comptroller, Controller Adamu Abdulkadir, disclosed this on Thursday while briefing newsmen at the command’s headquarters in Ibadan. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the command had on Feb.4 showcased seized 3,052 foreign bags of rice and other contrabands. Abdulkadir said that the 500 bags of foreign rice were intercepted by the officers of the command on Wednesday night between the border of Oyo and Kwara States.

NAN also gathered that two of the injured persons who broke limbs and one other who broke leg during the accident were taken to the hospital for medical attention. Mr Victor Ayetoro, Head, Corporate Affairs, Odua Investment Company Limited, owner of the building, confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday.
