India News: NEW DELHI: India on Saturday played a gracious host on Day 1 of the G20 summit in the national capital even as it scored a big diplomatic breakthrough.

As the G20 Summit embarked on Indian soil today, a consensus was reached and New Delhi G20 Leaders’ Summit Declaration was adopted.

While the declaration urged all states not to use force to ‘seek territorial acquisition’, it did not mention Russia in the context of the Ukraine war.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sought to define the G20 Summit around "inclusion of the Global South" and AU joining the bloc signals a "very positive step" towards the reforms sought in the UNSC and various global multilateral financial institutions, a top South African official said on Saturday.
