Canadian phenom Summer McIntosh is aiming to become the first back-to-back 200 fly world champion since Jessicah Schipper did so in 2007 and 2009.

In this article, we break down the best of the best from last week's U.S. Nationals meet, which decided the 2023 U.S. National Championship team.

Smith's standout month included a new American Record in the 200 fly, her first 2:03 in the 200 back in four years and a near miss of the AR in the 50 back.

Bowman put five ASU-trained swimmers onto the U.S World Championship team through the first three nights of Nationals.

American and U.S. Open record holder Regan Smith gets her meet underway in the 200 fly on Day 1 of the 2023 U.S. National Championships.

Caeleb Dressel has been the world's best in the 50 free since 2017, but his recent leave of absence puts that reign into question this summer.

Simone Manuel's season bests would have seeded her 13th and 14th in the 50 free and 100 free, respectively, had she entered those events at U.S. Nationals.

Caeleb Dressel wil be present at trials, but other big names like Simone Manuel are missing from the psych sheets and will not race at Worlds.

Regan Smith, an Olympic medalist from Lakeville, has the top American time in five events entering the U.S. swimming championships.

While Ledecky eyes her U.S. Open record in the 400 free, the race for second is tighter than ever, filled with both veterans and fast-rising juniors.
