want to see her get to a different space. there s always a hope, there s always an aspiration with a politician that they re going to do exactly what you want them to do. and one of the part of the disappointment for progressives with sinema is they say, look, she s in a state that is trending blue, right? it may not be totally blue, may be more purple. she should be more progressive. she should embrace some of these ideas and campaign as a full-throated progressive. as to all the causes of their disappointment, i don t know if i can fully diagnose them but it s clear they re disappointed and that disappointment is verging on anger. there s a stylistic difference between she and joe manchin. he comes out to play on all the sunday programs by way of illustration. i think the next time i hear her voice will be among the first times that i have heard her voice, and yet, she is wielding so much power. well, the power is a function of math and that s a 50/50 senate, right? and she rep
will he defend the investigators? you have the president of the united states accusing people who participated in this investigation early on of treason. he s used the word treason. you heard a republican lawmaker, liz cheney said the same on sunday programs. will robert mueller come to their defense here. jennifer rogers is with me here in new york. a longtime federal prosecutor. tell us about from a legal standpoint the significance of an investigator here who likes, like many investigators do, to do their work behind the scenes, outside of the public eye, but let s be frank, this is a very public investigation, of public importance. tell us about how he walks that line. well, mueller s been even more reticent than many public servants are to speak publicly outside of the four corners of whatever document or indictment it is that he s working on. so for him, it is a big deal. and contrary to what many of the president s supporters say about him, he is a republican, he s a lifetim
crime committed in relation to a relationship between the president or his campaign and the russians. so far there has been nothing on that score. zero. sandra: when you talk about the mueller investigation coming to a close and what happens when the report is generated and who will see it. alan dershowitz was on one of the sunday programs over the weekend and he had this to say about its conclusion. i think the report is going to be devastating to the president and i know that the president team is already working on a response to the report. and so at some point when the report is made public it will be made public probably with a response alongside. sandra: trying to figure out what that means there. he says does not believe it will criminally affect the president but devastating to the president.
