to flourish. why have it here? there s land, on top of a saltwater aquifer which is what it needs. some say algae produces seven times the protein on the same amount of land. we might harvest a single pond two or three times a week. the thing about food, people have to eat it. people think of algae and go yuck. the protein we are producing is not going to change the flavor, is not any different from what they re used to. we are not bringing algae as an alternative, this is in addition to commercial crops. algae for dinner is a long shot. but the potential of this tiny super crop can t be ignored.
