Cleveland singer Cat Calabrese debuts first solo single ‘Quicksand’

Calabrese was formerly a member of local band Rule of Young with her former partner Nico Conti. But when the two broke up in August 2020, the band ended, too.
A month later, Calabrese decided to start making her own music under her name as a way to regain a sense of control, she said.
“When he was gone, I was forced to go into the driver’s seat, and I realized how much I had been holding back,” Calabrese said. “It was nice feeling like I was completely in control, when my personal life felt like all the control had been taken away from me. Music gave me something to hold onto.”
