Updated: 6:15 PM CDT May 14, 2021 The City of Des Moines has announced it will be blocking off parts of downtown to create an entertainment experience. Between May 21 and Sept. 4, each Friday and Saturday parts of Court Avenue will be closed to traffic. This will allow for outdoor seating, vendors and live music in the streets. The Hawk Eye The Des Moines County Board of Supervisors discussed the Department of Human Services Thursday, focusing on how much money the department spends versus how much it asks for every year at budget time.
