Its the steps we take today in going forward that count. if i could, there is one special sub group in all of this. those are the iraqis and afghans who served us, who were our interpreters, who were our support network as we went into combat. these guys went into combat with us. iraqis are now who performed that interpreter role are now blocked. the pentagon is making a huge effort to identify all of them and then present that to the president and request an exemption. but weve got an obligatio...

Looking for him. if he has gone to syria, despite what we hear about the turkish/syrian border, its much tighter than it used to be. im confident he will be found, regardless of a support network helping him get out of the country. >> you heard ian say this particular nightclub was attacked because supposedly christians were partying there. most of the people inside that nightclub were muslims. why bring that up? >> well, so isis is on a pr strategy right now. and i think, you know, taking credi...

Dont share things that are going to break operational security. so, im not saying that the parents dont know that he might be id logically aligned with committing acts of terror the but i wouldnt be surprised if they didnt know the specifics of this operation. >> but something should have changed in them. more religious. >> and the fact that the father hadnt spoken with him. maybe he doesnt agree to his ideology. >> the preacher without a face. we have a photograph of him. this is the image we h...

It takes forever to do that. >> in the meantime, would you suspect that the driver of the truck, would he have gone to ground somewhere? have a support network in germany? theres also a suspicion may not be alone. >> my hunch, only a hunch but im at cnn to give you my hunches. my hunch is that this isnt one person. one person gets their own truck or car. several people would be needed to overpower a driver, stop him somewhere, find a way to get it and get it on the first time. because we dont he...

It takes forever to do that. >> in the meantime would you suspect the driver of the truck, would we have gone to ground or have a support network in germany? theres also suspicious he may not be around. >> my hurcnch, and its only a hunch -- >> thats why we have you here. >> my hunch is this isnt one person. one person gets their own truck or car. several people would be needed to overpower a driver, stop him somewhere, find a way to get it, and get it on the first time, because we dont hear any...

Range. as the search for the alleged terrorist expands, including raids by police in northern germany where he lived, there is growing concern about his links to isis. >> translator: he had contact with radical islamist organizations. various security services assessed him as a person who poses a risk. >> reporter: isis has claimed responsibility for inspiring the attack and cnn has learned amri has connections to an isis recruiting operation funneling would-be terrorists to strongholds in syria...

Man hunt right now. what we do now know about this suspect is he was connected to part of a radical network in germany that was smuggling recruits to join isis, to send em to isis, so that may give him an opportunity to take advantage of a logistical support network in germany, one potentially to hide him and two potentially to get him out of the country. so that may complicate the task of german investigators in the hours ahead but there are other people, other extremists that hes been mixing w...

Concern to trump, that mitt romney didnt owe him anything, anderson. >> hmm. jamie, stay with us. i want to bring back the panel. david, what do you make of jamies reporting? its interesting, this idea of insisting upon an apology. >> right. i certainly dont think that alone was the deal-breaker. it was part of a larger thing. last night he mentioned paul ryan on stage and he gets booed. imagine what the trump crowd would do if he introduced mitt romney on stage as his secretary of state. it was...
