The inmates challenged the execution claiming that they had the right to know the source of the drugs. A District Court judge ruled on march 26th that the secrecy law signed by governor mary fallon in 2011 was unconstitutional. But after the States Supreme Court granted a stay of the executions on april 22nd so that it could rule on the issue of secrecy, the governor responded, saying the court had acted, quote, outside of its constitutional authority.
