RANCHI: Senior superintendent of police Surendra Kumar Jha assured the Jharkhand high court here on Wednesday of arresting the assailants of advocate Manoj Jha soon. The lawyer was shot dead in Tamar on July 26.
Jha was appearing before a division bench of chief justice Dr Ravi Ranjan and justice Sujit Narayan Prasad while hearing a petition filed by the Advocates Association, Jharkhand high court. The court expressed its dismay over the incident of Jha being shot in the open by miscreants.
The bench while directing the SSP to expedite the investigation also said that the death of an advocate in broad daylight was very serious. The culprits should be immediately arrested, the judges said. The SSP, Ranchi informed the court that investigation has already commenced and the killers will be nabbed soon.
