City officials have successfully shut down the lime-green tents that were advertising “Free COVID Testing” and were offering $5 cash to individuals in exchange for personal information and test samples.
The company, which operated the green tents commonly seen throughout The City, had offered $5 for people to take a COVID-19 or flu test. It came under scrutiny from public health officials for failing to meet basic hygiene and other health standards, and has now agreed to stop San Francisco operations.
The murky tents offering virus tests came under scrutiny after San Francisco residents reported that they did not always receive results and gave away personal information.
