MESA, Ariz. Sandra L. Carr, 74, passed away Sunday evening, Feb. 14, 2021, at Mountain Vista Medical Center.
Sandy was born Aug. 28, 1946, to Jacob and Bertha Thomas in Lowellville and was a lifelong Youngstown resident.
As one of four siblings, she is survived by her two sisters, Elizabeth Bozic (Matt) and Shirley Ciccone, and a baby brother, Jacob “Jack” Thomas (Cathy).
She was married to Gerald Joseph Carr, her one and only lifelong love, who preceded her in death in 1996.
Sandy leaves behind their two daughters, Cynthia Carr, and her three children, Vanessa and Alex Graves and Alicia Carr of Tempe, and Candace Carr Strauss, son-in-law, Jay Strauss, and their two children, Madison and Hunter Strauss of Bozeman, Mont.; and Susanna Plascencia, a high school exchange student from Hermosillo Sonora, Mexico, who lived with the Carr family and also was like a daughter to her.
