Dimapur, Sep. 19 (EMN): As part of effort to promote Aadhaar usage by states, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Regional Office Guwahati, organised a state-level workshop on ‘Recent initiatives for simplifying Aadhaar usage’ at Administrative Training Institute, Kohima, on Monday. According to a DIPR report, Nagaland Chief Secretary, J Alam, the special guest of the workshop in his address said Aadhaar is very essential to avail various social welfare schemes and urged the residents to get registered for Aadhaar to receive benefits under direct benefit transfer. The chief secretary also mentioned that special effort shall be undertaken to cover the left out population. CEO, UIDAI, Dr. Saurabh Garg, elaborated on the progress made by Aadhaar in the past decade. Our high literacy rates are not translating into jobs. Our hard-earned peace is not giving us economic prosperity.
