The kincade fire in Sonoma County has grown and forcing new evacuations. Take a look at this map. The purple you see here, theres a lot of it. The are areas where people have been told to get out before its too late. More than 90,000 people have been told to evacuate in Sonoma County today alone making it the largest evacuation in county history. Heres the latest on the fire. It scorched nearly 26,000 acres and destroyed 77 buildings. Now, that number includes 31 homes. Firefighters say the flames are only 11 contained. Kaiser Medical Center both have been evacuated. There are two main Evacuation Centers so far. One is at Cross Walk Community church on first street in napa and also Napa County Fair Grounds has been taking people in there. There is also Finley Community center at near capacity. We came up on top of this parking structure at kaiser said he was trying to get his uncle off the hill behind us who lives up there. He said he did get out safely, but he said there are homes up on the hillside that are just destroyed. Hes certain his uncles home is destroyed. I can tell you, looking on top of this Mobile Home Park, there are dozens of peoples homes that are just, they have burned to the ground tonight. Firefighters are actually in the middle of this. We have been watching them try to put water on some of the home that is are still up, doing what they can. This looks like a fruitless situation, something that would be impossible to win here. Businesses along highway 221 and kaiser road, thats what theyre trying to keep this fire from spreading to and crossing highway 221 now earlier today we saw at the highway 29 the fire threatening downtown calistoga, thats what theyre concerned about, we saw flames, right along the ridge line just about ten minutes away from downtown calistoga. They are concerned about that area as well, thats the tubbs fire, theyre trying to get more containment around that only about 10 contained at this point, but theyre trying to get that from reaching calistoga.
