CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — After days of silence, NASA has heard from Voyager 2 in interstellar space billions of miles away.

Voyager 2s twin Voyager 1 was mankinds first spacecraft to enter the interstellar medium, in 2012, and is currently almost 15 billion miles from Earth.

After an erroneous command sent the spacecraft’s antenna askew, mission specialists hatched a plan to point it back toward Earth.

The two-week outage was believed to be the longest Nasa had gone without hearing from Voyager 2.
