Environment Agency issues flood warnings for rivers across Kent as heavy rain turns to snow

A series of flood alerts are in place across the county as snow continues to fall across the region.
Water levels have risen as a result of heavy rainfall in Kent overnight, leading warnings for residents to be prepared in case of flooding.
Heavy rainfall followed by snow has sparked the warning
The Environment Agency has but in place alerts for the following locations:
River Beult from Pluckley and Bethersden to Hampstead Lock at Yalding
River Medway from Hampstead Lock at Yalding to Allington Lock, including East Farleigh, Wateringbury, Teston and Teston Park, Tovil and Maidstone including Millennium Park

Kent is set to be hit with snowy and icy conditions just a day after large parts of it was flooded due to heavy rainfall.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the county and is urging people to be careful.

Icy conditions are expected throughout the day today while snow is expected on Saturday between 3am and 8pm.
The ice warning comes as rain, sleet or snow dies down and leaves a risk of icy surfaces and difficult travel conditions .
Torrential rain hits parts of Kent as Fenn Bell Inn pub ruined by flooding

Heavy rain this morning has flooded a pub.
Staff at the Fenn Bell Inn, Hoo, have spent the morning trying to salvage goods and furniture as other parts of Kent are struck by severe flooding.

Head keeper of the site in Ratcliffe Highway, Connor Gordon, said: We have lost the entire pub. The fire department were here this morning. We ve saved what furniture we can.
