Posted on Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for January 8th, 2021. This ended up being a fairly quiet Friday in terms of new releases, but that’s a good thing because I spent half the day at the hospital. It seems like things will be getting back to normal next week, however. Still, there’s enough going on today that the entire eShop went down for a bit. Some kind of demo about killing big animals and wearing their faces as hats or something. There are a couple...

Tetris 99 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and we go over the details of both. There are two excellent new releases today, and a very large list of sales that are finishing up tomorrow to consider. New sales? Uh, what are those? Haha, let’s get going! News The 19th Maximus Cup event in Tetris 99 is almost upon us. Starting this Friday and running for three days through the weekend, this even puts last year’s Kirby Fighters 2 in the spotlight with a brand new theme. This event works like m...

Posted on Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for December 23rd, 2020. It’s the day before the day before Christmas, and you would think the new releases and sales would be slowing down. But no, still an awful lot to look at today. If you caught yesterday’s article, you may already know that I was at the hospital today. It wasn’t quite as long as I thought it would be, but it was still long enough that today’s feature is a bit lighter than it may have been. L...

Posted on Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for December 22nd, 2020. In today’s article, we take a look at the several new games that hit the eShop today. Some interesting ones, to be sure. There’s also a massive list of new sales to look at, which feels impossible given how many games were already on sale. But no, life finds a way. That’s about all that’s going on today, so we’re going to stick to the basics. Such is the holiday season, friends. Let’s ...

Posted on Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for December 21st, 2020. We’re on the final march to Christmas and the end of the year, so things are probably going to be a little slower than usual around these parts. Today at least has plenty to offer. There are a few new releases to look at, lots of sales to consider, and a full review of Space Invaders Forever. Let’s get our week started right! Reviews Space Invaders Forever ($29.99) Space Invaders is a very im...

Posted on Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for December 17th, 2020. In today’s article, we’re looking at the big list of new releases that hit the eShop today. I’m not going to lie: it’s a somewhat dire list but there are a few good games in there. We’ve also got the list of new and outgoing sales for you to consider. Oh, and while there’s no entry in the article itself, I’ll point out that Bravely Default II Final Demo is up on the shop, allowing y...

Posted on Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for December 11th, 2020. In today’s article, we’ve got some interesting news items to look over from last night’s The Game Awards presentation. And that’s a good thing, because there aren’t a whole ton of new releases of note to look at today. We summarize them anyway, because that’s what we do around here. Things finish up with the usual incoming and outgoing sales, with some interesting titles discounted due...

The quirky but well-liked game PixelJunk Eden finally has a sequel. I’ll grant that it’s a lot less quirky than the original came off around a dozen years ago, but there’s still quite a bit of charm to its presentation and gameplay. That said, if you’ve kept up on mobile gaming you’re going to find a lot of the content here somewhat familiar. It makes use of a lot of stuff from Eden Obscura, which came out on the App Store a couple of years back. That doesn’t make it any less beau...
