  ISLAMABAD, April 12 (Gwadar Pro) - Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Syed Fakhr Imam said that the government is fully committed to providing facilities to the farmers, and seeking solutions to address their problems will be given top priority.   He stated above comments while attending a joint press conference with Punjab Agriculture Minister Syed Hussain Jahanian Gardezi in Multan. He said that steps were being taken to provide latest technology to the farmers to reduce their expenses and increase their income.   Syed Fakhr Imam said that despite locust attacks, crop production targets have been achieved. He acknowledged that efforts were being made to provide certified cotton seeds to the farmers to increase cotton production.

Chairing a meeting to review prices of wheat flour, sugar and other essential commodities, the prime minister called for intensifying efforts to facilitate the masses, particularly those belonging to lower class. The meeting was attended by federal ministers Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Mohammad Hammad Azhar, Syed Fakhr Imam, Omar Ayub and Asad Umar, PM’s special assistants Nadeem Babar, Dr Waqar Masood and Tabish Gohar, former finance minister Shaukat Tareen and secretaries and senior officials of different government departments.
