LAKE CITY Lake Cityâs 2021 Greatest 4th in the North has been canceled due to safety concerns over the upsurge in local COVID-19 cases.
âAs a group, we came to the unfortunate conclusion that we will not be hosting a 2021 Fireworks over Lake Missaukee display or the Greatest 4th Grand Parade this summer,â said Lake City Area Chamber of Commerce director, Michelle Reichert.
After meeting with festival committee members and local officials to discuss the logistics of hosting the upcoming celebration within the confines of current health restrictions, the Chamber concluded there was no alternative but to cancel the event.
CADILLAC â Enjoying a meal or beverage outside has never been as popular (especially in the middle of winter) as it is right now in Northern Michigan.
While that burgeoning popularity may have been borne more of necessity than preference, many restaurant owners say the changes they re making now to their operations could become permanent features even after the COVID-19 pandemic is over.
Restaurants have been unable to offer dine-in service to customers for several weeks as a result of an order issued by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to control the spread of the coronavirus.
This pause on dine-in activities had an immediate and dramatic impact on bars and eateries â particularly those that don t have robust take-out, curbside delivery, or drive-through options â and forced owners to get creative.
