SAB SLAMS BOOZE BAN

SAB SLAMS BOOZE BAN GETTY IMAGES. THE SOUTH African Breweries is not pleased with the president’s announcement on Monday 28 December to ban the sale of liquor for two weeks. The ban came after President Cyril Ramaphosa placed the country under level three lockdown to deal with the rising number of Covid-19 infections. Syreeta Van Rooyen, SAB’s account director, said: “As an organisation we respectfully disagree with the alcohol ban as announced on Monday, which took place with minimal consultation.
