Satellite image courtesy of DOST-PAGASA MANILA - A low pressure area (LPA) located east of Luzon may still develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday. In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the weather bureau said the LPA was spotted 755 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan. It said trough or extension of the LPA is bringing cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Bicol Region and the provinces of Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon, Samar and Biliran. Residents in these areas are warned against possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains, it added.
