Telangana Congress has decided to constitute a committee headed by MLC T. Jeevan Reddy to finalise the names of party candidates for the two Graduate MLC elections to be held soon.
The Committee consists of TPCC president, Uttam Kumar Reddy, CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka, working presidents A. Revanth Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, Kusum Kumar and Mohd Azaharuddin. The committee will recommend the names after going through the applications and the high command will select the candidates.

Many leaders arrested during the protest aken up against the new farm laws
A gherao planned by the Congress at Raj Bhavan to express the party’s solidarity with the farming community protesting on the outskirts of Delhi against the three new controversial farm laws for nearly two months now turned out to be tense with police obstructing party leaders’ march at different places and also arresting them.

Telangana will witness biennial elections to the two seats represented by graduates in the legislative council. These are the undivided districts of Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda, Khammam, Warangal. The elections will be held in March this year.
Political parties which believe the upper house to be a political rehabilitation center for the unemployed and disgruntled politicians are investing heavily to capture the two seats represented by the educated.
Thus, for the first time in the history, the legislative council elections are turning out into a high profile electoral battle and with a high voltage political campaign.

While differences over selection of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief are well-known, Telangana Congress leaders are also divided over whether the decision can be deferred till the Nagarjuna Sagar bypoll as sought by senior leader K. Jana Reddy.
AICC Telangana in-charge Manickam Tagore’s discussion on Wednesday over web platform with TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka and all working presidents though focussed on deferring the PCC chief decision, also had to face questions on the need for delay when the entire State and the cadre were keenly watching.
