Dan stewart is haywards First Female Police officer. That was in august of 2011. Before that she was an assistant chief. It was a department she joined as rookie officer in 1986. Ama mark kholer is acting chief. This leaves three major bay area cities with fill ins in the Police Chiefs office along with hayward, oakland and San Francisco also looking for chiefs.
