Kalinga Provincial Police director Police Col. Davy Limmong said a concerned citizen tipped off the arrival of a vehicle coming from Tinglayan, this province, and carrying marijuana bricks.
Limmong said the troops, headed by Police Lt. Col. Radino Belly, immediately put up a checkpoint.
But the driver of the Mitsubishi Adventure that was carrying the marijuana bricks turned left 200 meters away from the checkpoint in an apparent bid to get away.
Sensing it was the target they were waiting for, the troops chased the vehicle that was heading to the irrigation area.
