台中市教育局開辦優遊台中學，鼓勵學生利用假日參加多元學習探索課程，並於日前頒獎「十八達人」，表揚上學期修課時數達18小時的學生，60名獲獎學生中，大甲高中佔22位，逾3分之1，是人數最多的學校，其中，高三的邱兆陽修課時數多高達42小時，再度蟬聯全市個人修課時數最多的學生。台中市教育局自105學年度起開辦「優遊台中學」，鼓勵學生利用假日參加多元學習探索課程，109學年度起並開放中、彰、投、苗地區國三與高中學生選課，自主先修高中與大學階段課程，探索未來升學方向。
