Taiwan will not be stopped from engaging with the world and will not give in to pressure, President Tsai Ing-wen said on Friday as she arrived back from a trip to Central America and United States, where she met US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
China on Friday slapped sanctions on two American organisations that hosted Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen during her visit to the US and her meeting with the House Speaker.
During the stopover on her way to Central America, Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen hailed the relations between both the states. While speaking at event in New York, Tsai said that the relationship between Washington and Taipei was “closer than ever”
