The US military conducts a new missile strike on Yemen, targeting a radar site in the capital Sana’a.

Russia vehemently censures recent strikes by the United States and its allies against Yemen as unjustified and in violation of the United Nations’ Charter.

The Houthis announced their participation in the Israel-Gaza war on 19 November in spectacular fashion, landing a helicopter on a cargo ship and taking control of it. Since then, they have increased the tempo of attacks, without mounting anything quite as ambitious.

The Houthis threatened retaliation against the U.S. and Britain for striking Yemen and Houthi leaders claimed the group attacked U.S. and UK warships.

Warring parties in Yemen, including Houthi forces, the Yemeni government, and the Saudi and UAE-led coalition carried out serious international human rights and humanitarian law violations in Yemen during 2023.
