His fundraising and awareness campaign was supposed to take place last year but, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was cancelled a day before he was set to leave. He plans to average about 42.2 kilometres a day, running the equivalent of 100 marathons by the time he reaches Sault Ste. Marie, his home for the last 30 years.
