Police have denied carrying out any bomb detonation or disposal activity in the area.
This was confirmed by Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani (
pic) when contacted by Bernama.
“I have checked with the Sabah Police Commissioner (Datuk Hazani Ghazali) and no detonations were made, ” he said.
When contacted, Hazani said they had yet to receive any report of such blasts, adding that initial investigations showed no sign as to what could have caused the explosion, said to have taken place at about 11am yesterday.
“We contacted risk areas such as the Asian Supply Base, and the Petronas Chemical Methanol and the Shell Hibiscus plants but all are clear. There were no incidents at these places, ” he said.
