After 10-weeks of mentoring and online classes, dozens of local entrepreneurs have finished the final week of the Gauntlet. This year, those classes were virtual and were offered to more entrepreneurs in the region than ever before, especially in the Bedford area. At the start of the program, more than 100 people signed up. Although classes may be finished, entrepreneurs are hard at work to finish their business plans that will be entered for judging. It’s a process that takes months of research and planning.

OBITUARY: Tommie Gene Reagan, 1926-2020 Tommie Gene Reagan, our beloved mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on November 30, 2020 in Fortuna. She was born in Baskin, Louisiana on March 22, 1926. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 70 years, Louis Virgil Reagan. Tommie was the eldest of three children. She moved with her family at the age of 19 to California and married Louis on September 30, 1945. They made their home in Kerman for 26 years then relocated to Fortuna in 1971. There, she enjoyed working as a teacher’s aide at South Fortuna Elementary School. She shared many camping trips with her family and loved hunting and fishing. She was quite happy to catch a bigger fish than Louis! They loved cooking fish and potato fries for neighbors in their backyard.
