The coupons issued by Herriman in 2020 were a big help to Terri Rummel and her family. “I love the Herriman Bucks,” Rummel said this month in the parking lot of the Smith’s grocery store in Herriman, “and I hope they do it again this year. We spent all ours right here, here at Smith’s.”

Workers doing construction near Rose Canyon Road touched off a wildfire in Herriman that burned close to homes, sparked evacuations, and prompted people to move farm animals to a park blocks away.
Crews were able to quickly slow the spread of the flames that was at one point threatening homes with 15 to 20 foot flames.
The fire broke out just after noon Friday in a field between Summit Top Land and Sky Haven Circle, just north of Rose Canyon Road.
Unified Fire Authority spokesperson Patrick Costin said seven agencies with over 70 fire personnel were initially called in to assist because concerns over protecting homes.
