Up to 20,000 Royingya refugees from Myanmar have demonstrated in the world's largest refugee camp for better living conditions. Representatives of the Muslim minority also demanded a safe return to their Buddhist-majority homeland of Myanmar on Friday. Six years ago, Myanmar's military launched an offensive against the Rohingya minority in Rakhine State, which borders Bangladesh to the west. Hundreds of thousands of people fled or were displaced. The Rohingya had lost their citizenship through a law passed by Myanmar'smilitary junta in 1983. The United Nations calls the brutal persecution of the Rohingya genocide.
