OPINION: We the people: About that ol’ gray mare
Michael Cicalese
A lifetime ago, when assigned to duty in the Canadian Maritimes, my schedule often coincided with a Danish plane crew. Residing in the same hotel, I became friendly with several of the crew and we established a routine of visiting each other. On one visit to Denmark, I had the pleasure of strolling through Rosenborg Castle Gardens. The estate was built in the 17th-century for King Christian IV, and includes the castle, plantings, fountains and statues. Imagine a merging of Boston’s Public Garden or New York’s Central Park with Washington, D.C.’s White House and Mall. Now a museum, the castle and grounds are open to the public.
