Amid the rampant lack of use of a
pedestrian subway at a prime spot in Karvenagar, a proposal has now reached the standing committee, mooting the construction of various shops in the underpass as an effort to get citizens to use it more.
The proposal was put forth on Tuesday by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporator from Karvenagar, Rajabhau Barate, in front of Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) standing committee. Envisioning that a small market could be built in the space under the road, he claimed this could be the solution to the fact that the amenity has remained shut for a very long time — even before the
