More than a decade ago, Tara Anne Landgraf’s mother Brenda said she woke up every day hoping she would get a call that someone had been arrested for her daughter’s murder.
“I can’t begin to imagine how the person who did this can sleep at night knowing what they have done, not only to Tara, but to our whole family,” she said in an interview with the Herald in April 2009.

Family of Tara Landgraf said tears and relief flowed following news that a man had been arrested for her 2007 murder.
“We were relieved. . . . Shocked and relieved because we honestly didn’t think they would find him,” said her cousin, Rob Gregg.

On Monday, Calgary police announced a 29-year-old man — who cannot be identified because he was 16 at the time of the attack — has been charged with one count of first-degree murder in the 13-year-old case.
