Building. The Prince Georges County fire investigators are trying to figure out exactly what caused this fire. Cant believe it. First of the year. Reporter when the members of the church of oxon hill saw what was left of their building, all they could do was pray. There was no electricity. We left, locked up, and went home. When they called me, 7 30 this morning, they say the church is on fire. Reporter the small church of 80 or so members was built in 1963. And has been a church home for generations of family. My children have grown up in the church. And just that. We learned that the power not only here to the church but the entire neighborhood went out last night shortly after their services. Reporter fire investigators looking into the possibility that the power outage may have somehow ignited the fire. Once electricity came back on in the church. Just to give you a better idea where we are, this is the richmond target off of i80 and mcdonald avenue. This is the strip Shopping Center across the parking lot where it all took place just before 6 00. There was a very shocked store clerk who saw it all happen. I was staring out the door. I didnt know what to do. I was freaked out. I didnt know what to do after that. She said she stood at the counter and watched it happen in the parking lot of the target Shopping Center in richmond. She says she saw two men yelling at some others in a silver car. All i heard was basically, no, not you. The guy in the back. They were yelling back and forth. Then i basically heard two gunshots. People who call one Apartment Building home in San Franciscos Mission district are waking up somewhere else today. Victims waited for hours in a parking garage hoping to get back in but the red cross set up a temporary shelter providing blankets and food and water and a fire spread through the 100yearold building. Last year the event was the worst clean ups ever for the gathering so how do you put a stop to the unpermitted 420 gathering in leaders plan on announcing that plan later today. 15,000 people gathered last area for the annual 420 event and five tons of traffic was last behind and 10,000 in damage. The extra people coming into the city and spending money for the marijuana celebration should make up for the thousands of taxpayer dollars it cost to clean up.
