Candidate that is still on the right side of the party. people still see him as on the fringe, but i think what with senator sanders, it has been around his key issue, medicare for all, they have adopted that legacy. they may not have the same details in the plan, but they adopted that language in the tone. he is riding that and they think that will carry him to victory and they are o talking about the back and forth with the candidates. >> he wrote the dam bill as he likes to say. joining me no...

I just responded in kind. look, you think nancy is the same as she was? shes not. >> neil: well, enough of the bickering and lets just get to work. the parties are sniping at each other. always a problem especially under different control. the white house under one and the house lets say in this case anoth under another. democratic strategist, nathan rubin and ash wright and susan is here also. so people may harken back to ronald reagan and tip oneal. they were pals trying to deal with each othe...

Put pressure on those republicans who voted against me. i said to them vote your heart. the the president also sounded confident in his approach to the national emergency calling this a strong case. as you know this will be tied up in courts. theres some discussion among democrats that this rebuke of the president by both republicans and democrats in congress could actually help bolster the legal case against the national emergency declaration. so lots of moving pieces here in washington. and fo...

Now is more authentic, but it also could be opening himself up to flip flopping. i think that what he needs to do is just take a beat and get his campaign in order before he starts going off and making policy positions he cannot reverse down the line. that would serve him well in the long term. the snenate race was different. he will be under enormous scrutiny compared to the senate campaign that was very national. every single thing he does matters. every word he says matters. >> i want to talk...

Virtual oversight so this is a catch-up to what should have been done over the last years. and looking at how unprecedented some of the actions are. one of the document requests deals with security clearances. we know from nbc own reporting that not only ivanka trump but jared kushner could not get clearances because of security concerns and there may be as many as 30 other people in the white house who got their clearances despite concerns raised by career officials. so there is a lot of oversi...
