Today i rise to open for taking a moment for officer from the blooming dadale Police Department who passed away on january 19th just 27 years old this officer had only been on the Department Less than a year, had already received a lifesaving award and was labelled as a shining star. This man took the solemn oath of protecting our communities and saving lives today hes being laid to rest and i would ask that we keep his family and all of our Law Enforcement community in our thoughts and prayers, for they do a nearly impossible job. And unpoapologetically to his family, thank you for sharing him, please remember that that man touched many lives in a short period as an officer. Changed many lives. We very a very difficult job, and i would hope that this body could understand we dont do it for thanks, we dont do it for any type of gratitude, we do it because

Im sure you will join me in wishing kevin kemp god speed in his new responsibilities as two eventful and successful years as the director of the department of corrections. We are also losing sam hodge to a well deserved retirement from the office of aging. And kelly pierces experience and leadership will be missed with his recent retirement as administrative of the division of building safety. I exten

A short time ago. Under attorney general sessions, the Justice Department will return to its original core mission to uphold the rule of law, to ensure that justice is administered and enforced fairly and impartially for all americans. Attorney general sessions co me on in. A little credit. Mr. Spicer im sorry. Well, you know, it is a trump briefing. The president is pleased to have him finally in place as the nations top Law Enforcement officer. After the attorney generals swearingin, the president signed the three executive orders designed to stand behind the Police Officers who protect us in our communities, reducing crime and stopping cartel violence. The First Executive order directs the newly installed attorney general to develop a strategy for more effectively prosecuting people who commit violence against members of Law Enforcement. We must better protect those who protect us. Our men and women in blue need to know we are with them 100 as they patrol our streets. Unfortunately,
