DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista said necessary preparations are underway for the identification of the households that will be prioritized, once the Duterte government rolls out it vaccination program this month.
“Nagprepare na rin kami dahil sa miyembro kami ng National Task Force on Vaccination Program. Biningyan kami ng task dun at ibibigay po namin ang mga datos na ibibigay namin sa task force para magiging basis sa mga bibigyan ng prayoridad sa vaccination,” he said during the “Laging Handa” network briefing on Monday.
(We are preparing because we are member of the National Task Force [on] Program for Vaccine. We are given task there and we will give the data to the task force, which will then serve as a basis for the identification of those who will be prioritized for the vaccination.)

In preparation for the roll out of the government COVID-19 vaccination program next month, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will launch an information campaign in “underserved” communities in far-flung areas to educate them regarding the importance of inoculation.

In his message during the 70th founding anniversary celebration of the agency on Friday, DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista said that being at the frontlines in the service and protection of the poor and vulnerable communities, the DSWD is expected to “convince people at the barangay levels to see the advantages and safety of the different vaccines as procured by government based on their scientific merits.”

DSWD Secretary Rolando Baustita revealed this Tuesday as he asked the local government units (LGUs), the public sector, and the public to harmoniously work with the government to ensure the success of the country’s vaccination program, which is expected to roll out next month.
“Our agency looks forward to the success of the government’s COVID-19 vaccination program, that is why we are encouraging our local government and private partners and the public to cooperate for the successful implementation of the vaccination program,” he said in Filipino during a virtual presser.
Bautista noted that the DSWD is part of the Task Force on Vaccination Program which is aimed at ensuring the protection of all Filipinos, particularly the vulnerable sectors against COVID-19.
