Dubbed as the PNP Vaccination Plan “Caduceus”, the security plan covers the receipt of vaccine shipment to the vaccination in far-flung areas for the people included in the priority list not only for the scheduled inoculation probably this month or the other batches of COVID vaccines that were ordered by the government.
PNP chief Gen. Debold M. Sinas said the PNP Vaccination Plan ‘Caduceus’ sets forth the security and public safety guidelines and procedures to be undertaken by the PNP in support to the Philippine National COVID-19 Deployment and Vaccination Plan, as a member of the Task Group (TG) Vaccine Cold Chain and Logistics Management, Task Group Immunization Program, and Task Group Demand Generation and Communication.

Department of Science and Technology Undersecretary Rowena Cristina Guevara, who heads the task group, noted the level of interest among the LGUs and healthcare workers on the clinical trials.
“We are getting their support,” she told the Manila Bulletin in a phone interview when asked about the results of the town hall meetings conducted by the TG-VES, in cooperation with the Task Group Demand Generation and Communication.

Aimed at addressing vaccine hesitancy, three town hall meetings on the conduct of the World Health Organization (WHO) Solidarity Vaccine Trials (SVT) have been scheduled starting tomorrow, January 29, Department of Science and Technology (DoST) Secretary Fortunato dela Peña said Thursday.

The DoST top official said that the Task Group on Vaccine Evaluation and Selection (TG-VES), in cooperation with the Task Group Demand Generation and Communication, have organized the town hall meetings “specific on clinical trials.”
The DoST chairs the TG-VES.
He said tomorrow’s town hall meetings at 4 p.m. will benefit leaders of local government units (LGUs) in trial sites. These include local chief executives and barangay captains.
