The Mangosuthu University of Technology has paid tribute to its lecturer, Shan Dwarika who was kidnapped in May and found dead in June. The two men who were arrested in connection to his kidnapping have now been charged with murder following the recovery of his body in the bushes near Mafuya Road in Inanda on Saturday afternoon.

Seven people killed, while two are fighting for their lives in hospital.

Described as a kind man who was dedicated to make a positive impact on the lives of those historically disadvantaged, Dwarika was a lecturer at MUT for 26 years and drove daily from Verulam to campus and often stayed on afterwards for consultations with his students, who were the same age as his abductors.
