IPhone-maker Wistron will end its operations in India after more than fifteen years in the country after Tata Electronics takes over the operation.

To recall, Wistron started to manufacture iPhones in India around 5 years ago with iPhone SE 2. Currently, the tech giant manufactures iPhone SE, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14 in India.

Wistron, Apples assembly partner for the iPhone SE, is allegedly preparing to wind down most of its operations in India, with the company rumored to withdraw most of itself from the country over the next year.

Amid Apple opening up two stores in India and news of it ramping up production in the country, there are reports that Taiwanese iPhone manufacturer Wistron has plans to wind up its operations in India.
