Contract manufacturer Pegatron is in advanced talks to sell a majority stake in its iPhone manufacturing unit near Chennai to Tata group, people aware of the matter told ET.

Tata Group is reportedly negotiating to take over Pegatrons sole iPhone manufacturing facility in India.

While the actual investment details of the deal are under discussion, sources said that details will be firmed up after the general election and the deal is likely to be closed by July-August.

Tata Groups strategic moves in high-tech manufacturing, including semiconductor investments and potential Pegatron acquisition, align with Indias Make-in-India program. The Tata Group is poised for significant expansion in technology fields, with plans to inject over $120 billion into emerging business sectors and group focal points such as semiconductors, defense, electric vehicles, and Air India.

Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board will announce the PUC 2 results on April 10 at 10 am. The exams were held from March 1 to 22, with 6.9 lakh students appearing. This year, the exams were held in 1,124 centres, and the results will be available on karresults.nic.in at 11 am.
